Director of International Disaster Relief and Special Projects
In his role as Director of International Disaster Relief and Special Projects, David Darg provides strategic direction, management and logistical support of Operation Blessing’s international disaster relief efforts.
His responsibilities include leading disaster and refugee care and assessment efforts; coordinating relief response; and acting as the primary point-of-contact during times of international disaster. David also helps develop and promote synergistic relationships with other disaster relief NGOs and foreign government agencies.
David has been a part of OBI's team since 2001 and began overseeing humanitarian programs for the West African and European region in 2003.
His experiences have included aiding war refugees in Sudan, Kenya and Somalia, being one of the few aid workers permitted entry into cyclone-devastated Myanmar, and managing one of OBI’s most significant projects to date – the rebuilding of a village in Yao Jin, China that was destroyed by an earthquake.
David went to Oxford University to study Theology and received a BTh (OXON) in 2001. He also holds a GNVQ (General National Vocational Qualification) in sound engineering from Hereford Technology College. David currently resides in Virginia Beach with his wife Naomi.
