While water wells go deep below
the ground's surface to tap into
uncontaminated water sources, cisterns
are the better solution for communities
living at high altitudes. As elevation
increases, it becomes difficult to access
the water table by drilling wells. As an
alternative, cisterns are built to help
collect and store rainwater for future use.
Thanks to donor support of OBI's Water
Wells and Cisterns program, more than
400,000 residents are benefiting from
wells and cisterns built in 2007. A gift
of $250 can build a cistern and give a
family clean water.
Suggested Gift: $250 Or Share The Cost For $50
