| In just six hours, Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) dumped a month's worth of rainfall in Manila and surrounding areas, displacing 300,000 residents. |
MANILA, Philippines - With a country still reeling from the devastation left behind by Typhoon Ondoy, residents fear Typhoon Parma, which is expected to make landfall on late Saturday, may do even more damage.
"It is inconcievable that the victims of last weekend's record-breaking flood could be hit with yet another typhoon, but it looks like that may be the case," said Operation Blessing President Bill Horan.
"Tens of thousands who cannot yet return to their mud-filled homes are about to be tortured by even more rain from Typhoon Parma. We all should pray for the beleagured people of the Philippines and send as much aid as we possibly can."

“This is the Katrina of the Philippines,” said Dr. Kim, OBI’s country director for the Philippines.
Nearly a month's worth of rainfall submerged riverbank cities like Marikina and Pasig, burying neighboring cities and provinces under ravaging floodwaters.
"The whole region has been under a state of calamity,” said OB Philippines country director Dr. Kim Pascual.
To date, Operation Blessing disaster relief teams have reached more than 64,000 victims with relief such as emergency food and water, medical care and cleanup assistance.
Teams are currently standing by to respond to Typhoon Parma.
