OB India teams began immediate relief distributions, delivering more than 7,000 relief packages containing food and water.
Teams were also first on the scene to provide medical care after a hospital was forced to shut down from flooding.
“We were the first NGO to conduct a medical camp today in the district of Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh,” said Dr. Rajesh Dasari with OB India. “It was a timely help as the government hospital was shut down when it was inundated with flood water.”
Teams are also deploying mobile medical buses which are bringing additional medical teams, supplies and other aid into hard-hit areas.
