| Super Typhoon Megi brought heavy rains and high winds to the Philippines, causing widespread flooding and landslides. |
ILAGAN, Philippines – As Super Typhoon Megi barreled its way toward the archipelago of the Philippines, Operation Blessing was already preparing a relief response.
When the storm made landfall in the province of Isabela, landslides and flooding made many roads impassable. As soon as the debris was removed, however, OBI response teams deployed and were delivering relief supplies such as mats, blankets, rice, and crisis booklets to affected families in the province.
In the devastated town of Ilagan, 80 percent of the 21,000 households were affected. Thousands of homes were devastated beyond repair and many more need significant help.
