HARRISBURG, Ill. – Operation Blessing disaster relief teams are on the ground in Illinois responding to a deadly storm system that spawned suspected tornados in the morning hours of Feb. 29, causing damage to structures such as homes and churches, and even taking lives.

The convoy of OBI relief vehicles offering aid includes a mobile command center and a mobile kitchen that can serve more than 2,500 hot meals in a single day, as well as equipment such as a skid steer and a trailer stocked with construction tools and supplies.
According to news reports, local sheriff Keith Brown reported more than 300 homes had been damaged in the Harrisburg area. OBI’s relief team is connecting with local emergency management personnel as well as a partner-organization in Indiana to assess the damage.
