LEBANON, Tenn. – Sarah never thought she would be standing in food lines, but the young mother had no other choice.
“My children would be starving right now,” Sarah said. “Right now we have no source of income and we don’t qualify for food stamps, so we have no way to get food. This is the only solution for us.”
For Sarah, that solution came in bags and boxes of free groceries from Operation Blessing and Joseph’s Storehouse, an OBI-supported ministry based in Lebanon, Tennessee.
In fact, Joseph’s Storehouse is one of 5,200 partnering ministries across the U.S. that receives truckloads of food and product from Operation Blessing.
During the two-day food distribution, over 150,000 pounds of food were given out to more than 500 struggling families—many of whom began to line up as early as 6 p.m. the day before, sleeping in their cars overnight so they would be sure to get food the next day.

“A lot of them are just so tired, trying to live on $560 dollars a month, $640 dollars a month—they can’t do it,” said Bob Evans, founder of Joseph’s Storehouse. “There’s no way to describe what Operation Blessing has meant to us.”
Over 100 volunteers and OBI partners were on hand to help the staff of Joseph’s Storehouse bring out wheelbarrows full of food for the families and load them into their cars.
“They really give you a lot,” said Renee, one of the recipients. “And it is a blessing.”
