| Seng Hong used to go hungry, but now she is part of Operation Blessing’s Bless a Child program. |
KOMPONG THOM, Cambodia – For 11-year-old Seng Hong, hunger had become an almost constant companion.
The young girl lives with her widowed grandmother who washes clothes and dishes in exchange for food.
“Sometimes, when my neighbors give me food, I do not eat any of it,” her grandmother said. “I just give it all to the children.”
Though she does her best to provide enough food, work isn’t always available. Seng Hong would often go without the food she needed—her empty, aching stomach making it hard to concentrate on school work.
But then Seng Hong was invited to take part in Operation Blessing’s Bless a Child program. Now, she is not only getting the food she needs to grow strong and healthy, but also the education she needs to rise above the poverty she was born into.

Through the Bless a Child program, Seng Hong eats a nutritious lunch every day. She also receives school supplies, uniforms, and even medicine if she needs it.
“I am really happy that my granddaughter has a chance to come eat lunch with you,” her grandmother said. “You are helping give her a new hope and a chance to study.”
