| Before: Lekini was emaciated, weighing only 17 pounds. |
KENYA – He was called Lekini, meaning “small and weak”—and for a very good reason.
Lekini had been abandoned by his mother and never received proper nutrition or care. At three years old, he was emaciated, weighing only 17 pounds.
Feed a hungry child today
When Operation Blessing teams found Lekini, he was malnourished, covered in flies and so hungry that he was eating dirt. They immediately brought him food and vitamins, and took him to a local hospital where he received urgent medical care.
Today, thanks to the help of supporters like you, Lekini is now receiving proper nutrition and gaining weight. He has access to medical care and will even be starting preschool in January.
Lekini is thriving—in fact, his transformation is so amazing that his name no longer fits him, so he is now called Baraka, meaning “blessing.”

“It truly is a blessing that he has survived,” said Hellen Omae, OB Kenya staff.
