| More than 500 HIV positive children enjoyed a special children's program filled with games, dancing, entertainment and food. |
HYDERABAD, India – It was a celebration like no other.
On World Aids Day, OB India organized a special children’s program for more than 500 HIV positive children in Hyderabad, India.
The day was filled with games, prizes and entertainment, as well as a special guest of honor—Chiranjeevi, a popular Indian actor.
Chiranjeevi and his son, Ram Charan Teja, another well known actor, helped hand out 250 nutritional packages and another 250 school bags for the children.
“Both of them were loudly applauded and warmly welcomed by the packed audience who were excited and overwhelmed to see their favorite movie stars in their midst,” said a staff member with OB India.

| The day’s events also helped raise awareness for HIV/AIDS and promoted support for those impacted by the disease. |
In addition to blessing the children, the day’s events were also intended to raise awareness in the fight against HIV and AIDS and promote support for the individuals, families, and communities that have been impacted by the disease.
Chiranjeevi encouraged them to not lose hope, and remember that there are many benevolent people who are willing to give them a helping hand.
Such as the Nireekshana clinic in Hyderabad.
The OBI-supported clinic, whose name means “hope,” offers ongoing holistic healthcare free-of-charge to thousands of HIV-infected residents of the area, many of whom are often turned away from other medical clinics or are unable to afford such care.
Free patient services at the clinic include testing for HIV/AIDS; medicine for treatment of opportunistic infections caused by the virus; counseling and emotional support; and vitamins and supplements to maintain a healthy immune system.
