| This medical mission served over 4,000 slum residents in Lagos, Nigeria. |
LAGOS, Nigeria – Musa works hard as a taxi driver in Lagos to support his large family. But working became difficult when an extremely painful toothache began causing him severe headaches.
Musa was forced to stop and rest frequently, which impacted his work and resulted in a significant loss of income for his family.
“I could barely eat,” he said, “much less go about my business. I tried to go to hospital, but the medication I received was not effective at all.”
Musa could only pray that he would be able to bear the pain until he heard that Operation Blessing was coming to his community to provide free medical treatment, including dental care. For the first time since the toothache started, Musa received proper treatment.

Along with surgery and medicine, the medical mission offered free dental care. |
The relief was almost instant.
“I couldn’t believe it; the pain was completely gone!” Musa said.
“I really thank God for these people who have brought help my way,” he said with a smile. “If you had not come, I would still be suffering. God will bless you.”
In collaboration with Calvary Ministries, the OBI medical mission provided surgery for 104 men, women and children in the slums, and free medicine for more than 4,000 patients.
