About 850,000 children live in poverty2, and 75 percent of impoverished Israelis miss meals because they simply can’t afford to eat3. Israel’s West Bank has been hit particularly hard, with the unemployment rate and food insecurity level rising to 25 percent in 2009. From helping Holocaust survivors and victims of disaster to providing assistance to hungry families and creating jobs for disabled persons, Operation Blessing is helping bring compassionate care and relief to Israel’s families in need. Partner with us Our Projects.AID FOR HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS: OB Israel provides monthly support to these elderly survivors such as food, medication, and caregivers who can assist survivors with house work and other basic needs. Learn more Help a survivor WEST BANK OUTREACH: In the West Bank, high levels of unemployment, food insecurity and aid dependency continue to persist. OB Israel is distributing food and supplies, holding medical and dental outreaches, providing elderly assistance, and offering job skills training and other support for disabled individuals. Help families in need FOOD RELIEF: With a continued increase in food costs, OB Israel is working in conjunction with Israel’s national food bank to distribute food to the needy, including establishing food distribution centers, soup kitchens, and a “Meals on Wheels” program for the elderly.
