DEBORAH BENSEN, M.S.Ed. NCC
VICE PRESIDENT MEDIA & DEVELOPMENT
Deborah Bensen serves as the Senior Director of Integrated Media and Government Relations for Operation Blessing International, Deborah oversees all of OBI's government relations and integrated media projects including government partnerships, grant programs, multi-media campaigns and publications. Highlights include government grant programs with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) and the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Grant programs target outreach such as hunger relief, emergency disaster aid and HIV/AIDS prevention and care. In 2007, Deborah was promoted to Vice President Media and Development.
Previously, Deborah was the Director of Media Relations for CBN International, an organization which provides values-oriented television programming and outreach to more than 158 countries. Former experience also includes working in newspaper media in a top 25 U.S. market plus working in national television media at one of the 10 largest cable TV networks in the United States. Deborah is an Emmy-voting member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) headquartered in Hollywood, California. With a dedicated interest in mass media and its influence on behavioral change, Deborah holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling plus is credentialed by the National Counseling Association as a nationally certified counselor (NCC). She is also an ordained elder in the Presbyterian USA church. She and her husband, William, were married in Risor, Norway, and have twins.
