National Media Liaison

Operation Blessing International – Virginia Beach, VA

Operation Blessing International (OBI) is a humanitarian organization dedicated to relieving human suffering. OBI combats hunger, deprivation and physical affliction with the provision of food, clothing, shelter, medical care and other basic necessities of life. We also help facilitate the development of healthy, vibrant and self-sustaining communities by addressing larger issues of education, food security, potable water, employment, community health, and disaster mitigation projects.

OBI’s Disaster Relief team specializes in responding to natural disasters and mobilizing teams to assist with major relief and recovery efforts in response to earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and floods.

We are currently seeking an experienced National Media Liaison to capture footage (video & stills) of disaster relief efforts in real time. This position will serve as a Videographer, Editor, and Associate Producer to support the Disaster Relief team. It’s responsible for finding, shooting, editing and helping to produce stories and testimonials to be used for a variety of media sources.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Knowledge in television production, print journalism, communications media and/or public relations experience
• Strong working knowledge of writing feature stories
• Working knowledge of drone videography and photography is a huge plus
• Professional video experience including shooting, lighting, editing, and media formatting/conversion for web and television broadcast
• Technical experience with remote LIVE broadcast using Skype
• Proficient with professional camera and audio operation for broadcast
• Proficient in non-linear editing with Final Cut Pro editing system and experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe CS5, preferred
• Technical experience with MPEG Streamclip, Picasa, and DSLR video production
• Ability to perform audio editing and mixing tasks
• Experience and proficiency with still photography

Full Time Truck Driver

Driver Residence Location: Southeast United States – North Florida / Georgia / North or South Carolina

OBI is seeking a Full Time Truck Driver to work with the Hunger Strike Force to transport product to and from assigned pick-up and delivery locations. This position requires safe operation of assigned OBI tractor and trailer equipment in compliance with the Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR).

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Must have Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class “A”
• DOT Medical Certification required
• 300,000+ miles previous driving experience
• No DMV chargeable offenses for immediate 3-year period prior to employment
• Must pass DOT drug test and also pass an alcohol test prior to employment
• Working knowledge of DOT 11, 14, and 70 hour drive/work rule
• Working knowledge and ability to adjust fifth wheel and axles to legally scale load in accordance with DOT Bridge laws
