Development Field Representative

Major Donors – Midwest & West Coast

Operation Blessing International (OBI), an international humanitarian relief and development organization, is seeking a highly-motivated professional to cultivate donor relationships and convey the impact of OBI’s hunger relief, medical and disaster response programs. This results-oriented individual will increase financial commitments to the organization and its strategic initiatives by developing and managing relationships with individual donors for major and planned gifts.

The successful individual will have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum three to five years’ successful experience in major gift development, preferably with an international development organization
  • Highly energetic professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of building long term donor relationships and closing gifts
  • Ability to understand the needs and interests of major donors and how to deepen donor relationships with the organization
  • Proven experience with planned giving cultivation strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in developing in-depth cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • History of successfully achieving annual and long-range development goals
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to speak persuasively and articulate an organization’s mission and purpose
  • Polished and sophisticated communicator with excellent ability to collaborate cross-functionally and cooperatively with various departments

National Volunteer & U.S. Programs Manager

Operation Blessing International – Virginia Beach, VA

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated National Volunteer & U.S. Programs Manager who will assist with the development, growth and oversight of U.S. volunteer programs for both disaster and non-disaster relief programs.

The selected candidate will recruit and communicate with prospective volunteers, partner with organizations that will provide volunteers for local, regional and national events; and coordinate relief & recovery details for disaster relief teams.

Construction Manager

Operation Blessing International – Virginia Beach, VA

Operation Blessing International (OBI) is a humanitarian organization dedicated to relieving human suffering. OBI’s Disaster Relief team specializes in responding to natural disasters and mobilizing teams to assist with major relief and recovery efforts in response to earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and floods.

We are currently seeking a Construction Manager to oversee and manage construction projects, phases, operations and personnel for the U.S. Disaster Relief & Programs department ensuring safety, excellence, and proper permitting. The Construction Manager is responsible for the preventative maintenance for all equipment, DOT compliance and specialized licensing and certification for staff and personnel.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of managing construction projects to include demolition and re-construction
  • Working knowledge of fleet maintenance with skills in mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repair
  • Knowledgeable of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) laws and regulations

This position will ensure safe operation of assigned OB tractor and trailer in compliance with Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR).

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Must have Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class “A”
  • DOT Certification required
  • 300,000+ miles previous driving experience
  • No DMV chargeable offenses for immediate 3-year period prior to employment
  • Must pass DOT drug and alcohol test prior to employment
  • Working knowledge of DOT 11, 14, and 70 hour drive/work rule
  • Working knowledge of trailer product placement in accordance with Federal Bridge laws
