Program Manager, International Livelihood

International Relief – Virginia Beach, VA

Operation Blessing International (OBI) is dedicated to alleviating human need and suffering in the United States and around the world. One of the largest charities in America, OBI provides strategic relief in 37 countries on an ongoing basis through core programs such as disaster relief, health and medical care, hunger relief, vulnerable children and orphan care, safe water and community development.

OBI is seeking an experienced Program Manager to assist in developing effective humanitarian and community development programs, concentrating in the sector of Agriculture, Livelihood and Microenterprise initiatives.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Strong international humanitarian program development and management experience
• Extensive working knowledge of cross-cultural environments and customs
• Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Development or 3 years similar working experience in microenterprise, agriculture, livelihood programs desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Computer proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, and familiar with Access
• Strong ability to assess resources, plan, track, and report project status and outcomes
• Excellent logistical, decision making and problem solving skills
• Christian commitment to serving the poor and in full agreement with OBI’s Christian foundation and beliefs as expressed in our Vision and Mission
• Strong organizational, analytical and time-management skills
• Strong ability to take initiative, be innovative, work independently, and function as a team player
• Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and effectively multi-task
• Ability to travel internationally as assigned up to 30% of the year
• Spanish or French language skills preferred

International Health Programs Manager

OBI is seeking an experienced Program Manager to provide strategic planning, development, technical oversight and general management to OBI health programs.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Experience in non-profit, humanitarian development assistance
• Experience in community development and health-related programs
• Working knowledge of, and sensitivity to, cross-cultural environments and customs
• Strong ability to assess resources, plan, track, and report project status and outcomes
• Excellent logistical, decision making and problem solving skills
• Ability to take initiative, be innovative, work independently and be an effective team player
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Full Time Truck Driver

Driver Residence Location: Southeast United States – North Florida / Georgia / North or South Carolina

Through core programs of disaster relief, medical aid, hunger relief, orphan care, water wells and community development, OBI has helped more than 215 million people in more than 105 countries and all 50 states, providing goods and services valued at more than $2.1 billion.

OBI is seeking a Full Time Truck Driver to work with the Hunger Strike Force to transport product to and from assigned pick-up and delivery locations. This position requires safe operation of assigned OBI tractor and trailer equipment in compliance with the Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR).

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Must have Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class “A”
• DOT Medical Certification required
• 300,000+ miles previous driving experience
• No DMV chargeable offenses for immediate 3-year period prior to employment
• Must pass DOT drug test and also pass an alcohol test prior to employment
• Working knowledge of DOT 11, 14, and 70 hour drive/work rule
• Working knowledge and ability to adjust fifth wheel and axles to legally scale load in accordance with DOT Bridge laws
• Knowledge of DOT Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations
• Ability to plan and execute travel-time in a safe, legal and DOT compliant manner
• Ability to perform DOT compliant vehicle inspections
• Skill in hooking and unhooking tractor-trailer combination units
• Ability to travel 5+ consecutive days/nights per week
• Ability to handle stress, and meet deadlines and time demands
• Ability to communicate to donors, ministries and dispatch in a positive manner
• Ability to drive for long periods of time; ability to stand, walk and lift 25+ pounds
