In the wake of a major disaster, such as last year’s China earthquake, many families are left homeless, their possessions are destroyed, and they have little food or water. There’s no time to mourn — the focus is simply on surviving. During the critical first 48 hours, Operation Blessing disaster relief teams are often one of the first on the scene to provide emergency medical care, food and water. OBI is also one of the last to leave, initiating longer-term recovery programs until devastated families and communities can thrive on their own — such as in Yao Jin, China, where we rebuilt an entire village that had been destroyed by the earthquake and helped the villagers start new farms. A gift of $50 will help us reach victims of disaster in the U.S. and worldwide with emergency relief when it’s needed most.
