Here in the United States, access to clean water is a short walk and a simple turn of the tap — we don’t worry about whether there will be enough water to share or if we’ll get sick from drinking it. But for villagers living in poverty-stricken regions of India, Africa and Thailand, water sources are often a several-mile-hike away and almost always muddy and contaminated, spreading sickness and disease among those who drink it. A gift of $1,800 will provide a village with access to safe, clean drinking water through its own water well and help prevent the spread of waterborne diseases.
