Operation Blessing is partnering with Lifesaver Relief to distribute portable, family-size water filtration jerrycans to villages lacking clean water sources. Each innovative jerrycan is able to purify up to 5,300 gallons of water from even the dirtiest of sources. OBI’s international field staff has used the Lifesaver technology for two years with 100 percent success. It is hopeful that this new technology will result in the ability to provide safe, clean drinking water to people all over the world at a fraction of the cost of other methods. In the aftermath of the earthquake, teams distributed both jerrycans and bottles to villages and families without access to clean water as well as communities affected by the cholera outbreak.
