(09/12/01) -- In response to Tuesday's horrific events OBI has mounted relief efforts to help rescue workers and victims. Already a Hunger Strike Force tractor-trailer filled with drinks, energy bars, and blankets for dedicated relief workers is on its way to New York City. Other HSF trucks stand ready to assist in coordination with FEMA and community efforts.
In addition, OBI's New York center is working through a broad network of churches and helping agencies to mobilize high-tech school buses to bring food and blankets to rescue workers and volunteers as well as collect community donations. Leader Jim Esposito E-mailed this afternoon saying, "Right now, its a spiritual crisis and prayer stations will be established all over the city!"
