To Zambia With Love

Posted: November 1st, 2002

  • Your gift of just $30 will feed a family of six nutritious food for one month.

  • Your gift of $300 will feed 10 families of six for one month!

  • Your gift of $1,000 provides the ingredients for 7,000 meals.

Help Operation Blessing bring life-saving food to southeastern Africa today!
  • In continued response to the famine that is now affecting millions of lives in southeastern Africa, Operation Blessing and a partnering organization is sending a container of hunger relief to two orphanages in Zambia! It will begin traveling across the Atlantic Ocean on November 7th. Two containers to Zambia and one container to Malawi each filled with 128,000 meals arrived to their destinations in October.

They are the most innocent victims of this famine. In addition to not having a parent's love, Zambia's orphans and street children have been stripped of any food. Street children are used to finding scraps, but there aren't any scraps to find anymore. However, thanks to Operation Blessing partners, 128,000 meals will shortly be on there way into these young hungry hands!

Operation Blessing will make sure this happens with the help of contacts at the Emma's Kids and Nyamphande orphanages. Accountable to Children of the World, Emma's Kids is home to 156 children in very rural Zambia. It also daily feeds more than 250 additional street children! Associated with the Full Gospel Church of South Africa, Nyamphande Orphanage feeds 361 children every day!

There are still millions more to rescue from the grips of starvation! Operation Blessing can help you in sharing the joy of the quickly approaching holiday season with Africa.

Southeastern Africa's rainy season began in October. Heavy waters washed out and flooded pathways, making it more than difficult to reach those in need of famine relief. Without the help of their world neighbors, this impending famine will heighten the probability of certain death.

We have a long history of helping Africa's citizens. It includes sending flood relief to Mozambique, digging water wells in Uganda, supporting Angolan and Nigerian orphan programs, developing micro-enterprise projects in South Africa, building homes for Tanzanian flood victims, providing relief for Sudanese refugees as well as conducting medical missions in Kenya and Ghana.
