BORNEO, Indonesia - Just days after floods struck the Indonesian district of Gorontalo, flooding overwhelmed eight villages to the southwest, in the city of Palangkaraya, Central Borneo. The flooding was caused by heavy rainfall in early July.
An Operation Blessing emergency medical team consisting of two doctors and two paramedics traveled directly to the area to aid villagers injured in the disaster. The team served 817 patients in four days and distributed 1,000 food packages, as many villages lost fields or fisheries in the disaster.
Maria Tani, a 68-year-old villager, expressed her gratitude.
"I am really happy. After the free medical service, I received a food package as well. Thank you!"
Operation Blessing Indonesia has provided medical and educational services to 733,333 persons in 1,362 locations in Indonesia since 1999.

Floodwaters overtook eight villages southwest of the city of Palangkaraya, Central Borneo.
