and plays on emotions already stretched thin by the pressures of
life. Hunger doesn’t stop there. It escalates and can quickly
turn to malnutrition, illness, and if left unchecked long enough,
even death.
For those who experience chronic hunger, the search for food takes
precedence over everything else. Some end up eating out of garbage
cans. Others dig up roots, berries, and grass, anything to make
hunger go away. A warm meal or a bag of groceries given with love
mean so much.
