Ghana
is home to Lake Volta, the world's largest artificial lake. Unfortunately
its' resources don't reach southward to the country's Central Region.
For centuries thousands of children and their families living in villages
such as Kofi Kum, Okyereko and Fahwena have relied on rainfall for clean
water. When this ran out, they resorted to contaminated sources.
Operation Blessing sponsored programs are giving Ghanaians the opportunity
to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives by:
- Equipping for Life -- Operation Blessing assists
people needing to break free from the vicious cycle of poverty.
a. Living Waters: Many poor rural villages do not have access to clean
water. Through the Living Water program, individuals can go to a newly
dug or refurbished well when they need water for cooking, drinking and
cleaning instead of having to depend on the rain or other sources which
are likely contaminated.
b. Basic Care: Droughts, low wages and little or no access
to basic medical care leave families living in rural villages no choice
but to struggle to survive. Our shipments of medical equipment. medicine,
educational supplies, and other essentials give communities the help
and hope needed to keep families together and children alive.
Join us in breaking the cycle of suffering around the world. Please
give a gift today!

Every morning Alberta walks with anticipation to the R. Catholic Secondary School
in Nyinahin, Ghana. Thanks to a Bless-a-Child scholarship from our Ghanaian outreach
center, the 17-year-old no longer watches the other students take the path to
school as she and her grandmother make their way to the forest to collect firewood.
After experiencing so much sorrow and hardship in her young life, Alberta looks
forward to a brighter future! |
