COVID-19 Hunger Relief Efforts in the US

Field Report by Operation Blessing

UNITED STATES – Due to increased demand for food because of the coronavirus crisis, Operation Blessing friends have also increased hunger relief efforts in the U.S.

Here are just a few photos from our food distribution partners in Virginia and North Carolina. Grateful recipients are getting free groceries when they need it most. And vulnerable, homebound people are receiving food right to their front doors.

Hunger Relief Efforts

Jeri from Elizabeth City is just one vulnerable senior who is getting relief when she needs it. She served for decades as a healthcare worker. Now she cares for her husband with diabetes. She doesn’t want to take the risk of leaving her home during the COVID-19 pandemic, but you are sending food and supplies right to her house.

Being on a fixed income, the couple’s finances are tight. Thankfully, they are able to receive groceries from their church, Grace and Truth, a partner of Operation Blessing’s Food to Freedom program. Jeri said, “They are wonderful people. Really thoughtful and caring. This group really pays attention to seniors and they check on us.”

You’re protecting her and her family while providing for their essential needs.

Thanks to Our Food Distribution Partners

Our sincere thanks goes out to Grace Bible Church in Virginia Beach, Grace and Truth Community Church in Elizabeth City, and all of our partners and volunteers involved in hunger relief throughout the U.S. in places like Texas and Georgia. You are making a huge difference for those in need during this difficult time.
