Drone Footage Shows Extent of Typhoon Haiyan’s Destruction

Operation Blessing is always looking for effective, as well as innovative, ways to assess and record the impact in disaster and humanitarian aid zones.

One way we’ve started doing that is by using a quadcopter, or drone, to view the scale of destruction in disaster or aid zones. This unique device lets us see what the scope of the needs are and helps provide views (or coverage) that might not otherwise be accessible during the first responder stages of a large disaster.

This is a tool we will continue to use to bring you disaster relief and development efforts from around the world—so stay tuned for more powerful footage from this quadcopter. Thank you for your support and for giving voice to those who are suffering.
