Feeding a Single Mother Struggling in Kenya

Field Report by Operation Blessing

NAIROBI, KENYA – We are all struggling to cope with the changes COVID-19 has brought to our lives. But for people like Judith, these challenges have threatened her and her children with starvation. Judith is a single mother caring for her children in the Mukuru slum of Nairobi, Kenya. The young mother was struggling to feed her family even before the pandemic began. She made what she could as a launderer, going from house to house offering to wash clothes. But now, Judith can’t find any work because her customers are afraid of contracting COVID-19. Lucky to make even 50 cents a day, Judith was desperately struggling to keep food on the table.

Thankfully, Operation Blessing’s partners have a heart for the hurting even in the midst of these uncertain times. Because of your generosity, Operation Blessing staff in Kenya were able to provide Judith with enough food to last her and her children an entire month. Judith was overjoyed, knowing that her children would not go hungry. Thank you for your support during COVID-19. You are feeding struggling families in Kenya, and all around the world.
