Feeding Remote Costa Rica Islands!

Field Report by Operation Blessing

COSTA RICA – COVID-19 has affected nearly everyone around the world, even people in the remote islands of Costa Rica. The residents of Costa Rica have seen and felt the impact of the pandemic on their health, livelihoods, and quality of life. Isaac and Mario, both husbands and fathers living on Chira Island in Costa Rica, have lost their jobs amidst the COVID-19 crisis. Isaac, a fisherman and primary breadwinner for his family, laments the pain he feels when he cannot offer his hungry daughter anything to eat as she begs for food. Mario lost all work and has watched in pain as his wife and children suffer. Thousands more in remote Costa Rica islands are struggling through these circumstances, wondering when it will be over.

But thanks to generous partners like you, Operation Blessing traveled to meet these families in their desperate need! Your generosity mobilized teams to Chira Island and Cabello Island, helping the most remote and forgotten residents of Costa Rica. Men, women, and children were blessed with bags full of critical food, paper products, and hygiene supplies. Your kindness will sustain and encourage these suffering families as they endure to the end of the pandemic. Thank you!
