UGANDA – “I don’t know what I would have done,” Miriam said. Miriam has struggled to care and provide for her 18-month-old son, Nelson. Unfortunately, it can be hard for young mothers who are in need in Uganda to earn enough money to feed themselves and their children sufficiently well.
So, thanks to your kindness and love, Miriam was invited to join an economic empowerment program that you support in their region, Abide Family Center. In the program she received training, childcare and medical check-ups. She also received support to get on her feet financially. Then Nelson got sick.
Miriam’s little boy suffered from a high fever, coughing, and chills. He grew very weak. Nelson was taken to Kamu Medical Center. It was here that Abide Family Center’s doctors examined him. He was diagnosed with severe malaria and anemia.
You Make a Difference in Uganda
Thanks to the gifts you sent through Operation Blessing, Nelson got the medicine and treatment that he needed. He quickly recovered to full health. That’s why Miriam exclaimed, “I don’t know what I would have done if it was not for Abide’s support!”
It’s only because of the compassionate support of loving people like you, caring for those in need in Uganda, that stories like Miriam and Nelson’s can have a happy ending!
