Orphans and vulnerable children

One of Operation Blessing’s core missions is to help orphaned children as well as those who are in vulnerable situations at home or at school. Our mandate comes straight from the Bible, which reminds us to reach out to orphans in need:

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” – James 1:27

Operation Blessing has a variety of programs in many countries helping orphans every day. One of the most powerful ways to help orphans and vulnerable children is to ensure that they have the opportunity to attend school. Around the world, Operation Blessing schools, scholarship programs, school renovation projects, and partnerships with orphan care organizations  are ensuring that these young people get the educations they need to get ahead.

Another way OBI supporters help orphaned kids, and those who are struggling, is through our school nutrition programs in countries like Peru and Haiti. In Africa, Operation Blessing partners with a variety of local organizations that help orphans and vulnerable children get the care they need. One example of OBI’s commitment to orphan ministry can be found in a garbage dump in Uganda. Here, Operation Blessing staff reached 11-year-old Mary with life-changing aid!

Though there are a large number of orphans in the world, and even more vulnerable children, Operation Blessing is committed to orphan care ministry wherever the need is found. Through our own initiatives and strategic partnerships with charities that help orphans, we are giving these precious children the help they need to have beautiful childhoods and bright futures.
