GEORGIA – Julie is a Georgian single mother that has always had a servant’s heart. As a young woman, she joined the military and served her country for 20 years as an accountant in the U.S. Navy. In addition, she has been faithfully caring for her seven children for the last 18 years. Julie has always been passionate about motherhood, striving to give her children the best lives possible.
But Julie’s marriage proved challenging. After years of effort to work through her and her husband’s disagreements, Julie found herself a single parent, struggling to make ends meet and facing food insecurity.
When Julie retired from the Navy, she learned medical coding. She was hired by a few different companies over the years, but those jobs ended in layoffs, and Julie would return to struggling again. Job instability caused tremendous strain and fear for this dedicated single mother from Georgia.
Hunger Relief for Georgia Single Mother
But thanks to generous partners like YOU, Julie’s blessing was not far away. Operation Blessing and local partner Warehouse of Hope in Douglasville, Georgia, were already busy serving the community when Julie arrived looking for help. The Ministry Director, Emma Finger, had also been a single parent, escaping an unhealthy marriage when she first found Warehouse of Hope. The ministry has served as a beacon of hope to the area for years, and Julie was ripe to receive her own blessing.
Each time she arrived, Julie was able to fill her cart with groceries and supplies for her family. “It was overwhelming! They’re very helpful and supportive. They provide quite a bit. I didn’t have to tell my kids ‘no’ anymore.”
Thank you for your heart to see single mothers, children, and others in need fed when they are hungry. Your love shines through every truckload, canned good, and beverage given to struggling families. Julie now has a stable job as a mail carrier, and she spends her free time volunteering for the ministry. Your kindness changes lives, reaching far beyond a single gift. Thank you!
