WINDSOR, N.C. – Hurricane Isaias passed through Windsor, North Carolina early in the morning on Wednesday, August 5. The storm spawned a vicious EF-3 tornado, and destroyed over 15 homes in a local neighborhood. The community is reeling from this unexpected disaster. Local pastor Wesley Daniels met with Operation Blessing staff to discuss the storm. “At 1 o’clock Wednesday morning, we got alerts that a tornado had touched down,” he told OB staff. Daniels told Operation Blessing staff that the storm destroyed several homes and severely damaged many, many others. The storm struck hard. Subsequently the community is in desperate need of basic disaster supplies for Hurricane Isaias victims.
Disaster Supplies For Hurricane Victims
Thankfully, our gracious partners provided vital disaster aid for the victims of Hurricane Isaias. Because of your generosity, Pastor Daniels accepted a donation of supplies like tarps, clean-up items, and fresh water. “It’ll be huge,” Daniels exclaimed, “just being able to get people moving in the right direction. To be able to get their basic needs like water, and to cover the holes in their roofs so they can hopefully rest at night a little easier. It’s going to make a huge difference in the lives of the people who were impacted by the storm.”
