Help stop Human Trafficking

Most people think of slavery as something that ended centuries ago. Unfortunately, human trafficking – modern-day slavery – not only exists, it’s thriving. Every day, men, women and children are being trafficked into forced labor or sexual exploitation. Through prevention, intervention and restoration, Operation Blessing is working hard to stop human trafficking. The human toll from these evil activities is vast. But with your help, we’re making a real difference.

What is Human Trafficking?

Human trafficking is modern day slavery and its victims are almost always poor women, girls, men, and boys who have been tricked, manipulated, captured, or otherwise taken against their will. They are sold for sex and/or hard labor. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), an estimated 40.3 million people were in some form of modern slavery during 2016, and 1 in 4 victims were children.

How are you working to prevent child trafficking?

Through increased awareness, training, advocacy, and collaboration programs like Yo Digo No (I Say No), OBI is helping children and teens avoid becoming victims of human trafficking. In addition, OBI supports programs that keep families together, reducing the risk a child will be sold to traffickers.

What are you doing to actively help victims?

OBI supports intervention programs by working with partners to assist in funding rescue operations in places like India. We partner with shelters and organizations to help victims restore their lives through services such as after care programs, vocational training, and renovating safe homes for victims who have been rescued.
