As Category 4 Hurricane Harvey slammed into Texas, bringing devastating winds, torrential rain, and historic flooding to communities, Operation Blessing’s U.S. Disaster Relief Team was already on the ground staging emergency relief supplies. Immediately after the storm, OBI’s fleet of tractor trailers began delivering tons of desperately needed food, safe water, and other critical supplies, including diapers and portable cribs for families in shelters. Disaster relief equipment including a mobile kitchen, a large industrial generator, forklifts, porta potties, debris removal tools like chainsaws, and more are deployed in some of the hardest hit communities. Operation Blessing staff, who have a long track record in effectively managing large-scale volunteer operations in disaster zones, have coordinated with local authorities and churches to set up volunteer operations to help Hurricane Harvey victims begin the long recovery process.
